So, you are indulging in a big meal today? That’s okay! You are going to enjoy dessert, have some wine… no need to stress, worry, or punish yourself tomorrow! You don’t need to beat yourself up over it and you absolutely shouldn’t feel guilty for enjoying your holiday! You won’t derail your progress. All of your hard work won’t be ruined. You may feel like you need to slash your calories tomorrow or do an extra-long and intense workout, but NO! You don’t need to make up for splurging on a special day. Thanksgiving is one day out of the year. This one meal isn’t going to make you unhealthy or cause you to gain a bunch of weight. All you need to do is move on and go forward, and just continue your normal routine. It is what you do the rest of the year that matters more than this one day. It is the consistency and habits that are practiced for the majority of the year that will get you closer to achieving your goals. Just remember, health and fitness is a journey, not a destination; it should enhance your life, not take away from it or restrict you from enjoying the fun of the holidays. Restricting yourself from food and drinks isn’t sustainable, nor will it make you happy. So, if you find yourself Thanksgiving night, feeling like you did everything wrong because you overindulged, were “bad” because you ate “bad” food (please note that you nor the food are bad), or you missed your workout. Just know that you did not fail. You are human and you are living life. The only way you fail is if you give up! So be proud of yourself that you are moving forward, continuing to take those steps to lead you to a long-term healthy lifestyle and to become the best version of yourself. Now get back to it tomorrow morning and be the amazing badass that you are…and keep working towards those goals!

Have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving!
